Jessie started her first swim lessons yesterday. She was quite timid and didn't want to participate much. They are only 30 minutes long, but Greg and I could see her courage deteriorating as the class went on. By about 20 minutes we could tell she was trying her hardest not to cry, by 25 minutes the tears began and it was over. The teacher suggested I take the next class with her, and today she was all smiles. She happily did all the games and things her teacher told her to. Then she gave the teacher a big high 5 and hug after class. She says she wants to do tomorrow's class by herself (we'll see if she's still singing that tune tomorrow at class time). This is our first insight into after school activities that eat up our evenings. Classes from 6 to 6:30, 4 nights a week for 2 weeks is tough on our homebody schedules.

[this is good]
